Laura M. Miller

Laura M. Miller, 90, of Pleasantville, OH, passed away on December 12, 2024, at the Pickering House. She was born to the late James and Alice Ballmer on October 27, 1934 in Baltimore, OH. 

Laura was a devoted wife and mother who was an excellent home maker and farm wife. She was part of a tight knit friend group affectionately referred to as “The Golden Girls” which included Becky Todd and the late Alnita Moyer and Norma Fenstermaker. Laura was also a long-time member of the Thurston Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her sons, David (Connie) and James (Sally) Miller; grandchildren, Jon (Mindy), Derek (Jennifer), Andrew (Audrey) Miller and Lynda (Joshua) Whetstone; great grandchildren, Jaden, Cambria, Carley, Cara, Kaeda, Carter, Hudson, Callahan Miller, and Sarah, Alexandra, and Lauren Whetstone; sister, Mary Jane Brandt; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Miller; stepmother; Sarah Ballmer; and parents. 

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Phil Miller and Rev. Dr. Alice Wolfe Brookover will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 11 AM at the Thurston Methodist Church, 2015 E Main St., Thurston, OH 43157. Family and Friends may visit from 5-8 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 207 S Main St., Baltimore, OH 43105, and again from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church on Tuesday.
