Larry E Wilson

Larry “Doc” Wilson, age 86, of Lancaster, Ohio passed peacefully away surrounded by his family March 6, 2022.

Larry received his PhD from Ohio State University, and was a chemistry professor at Ohio University – Lancaster. His students affectionately called him “Doc”.

He was a member of Kiwanis for 35 years, and numerous local coin clubs. He was an auctioneer, and umpired many baseball and soft ball games. He owned a small Christmas tree farm, and donated many trees to needy families.

Larry liked to garden, read, work puzzles, and hike. He completed over 1700 miles of the Appalachian Trail. He was an avid sports fan, traveling to many OSU football and basketball games.

He is survived by his children Steven (Kathleen) and Katherine (Chris) Petersen; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Judy (Henry) Wilson; his parents Ross O. and Hattie (Bowman) Wilson; 2 brothers; and 4 sisters.
