Larry Edward Turner, age 84 of Pleasantville went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Jan. 13, 2024 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born in Pleasantville, OH on Feb. 20, 1939 to the late Edward R. and Ella Mae Turner.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Jerry of almost 63 years; daughter, Jaquelyn Ann Turner; sons, Edward Ernest Turner and Joseph Bryan (Trista) Turner; granddaughter, Sarah Turner; grandsons, Thomas Lane (Brittany) Coon, David John Coon; great-granddaughter, Luciana Coon; step-great grandsons, Trent DeLong, Tyler DeLong, and Brady Werth; sisters-in-law, Joann Bright and Peggy Taylor; brothers-in-law Pastor Tim Poling, Charles Taylor, and Clyde Pinkstock.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Elmer M. Bright; mother-in-law, Opal Taylor; brothers-in-law, Jack Grandiminico, Lawrence Taylor Jr., and Jon Taylor; and sisters-in-law, Ramona Poling and Elizabeth Pinkstock.
After graduation from Pleasantville High School Larry Joined the Marines. He was a dedicated Patriot who loved his country, Larry worked at Kroger Co. for 5 years and then retired after 34 years of service from Coca Cola USA (the Columbus PTO Division) .
He was a longtime dedicated member of the Pleasantville Methodist Church as Lay Leader and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Ross George American Legion, Post 9. Larry was the #1 Cheerleader for the Marching Falcons, for 12 years, always supporting the schools. To him, making a difference in a child's life was important, as he supported his own children and grandchildren with all his love.
Larry was a good example of what a man should be to those around him. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a loving husband and father, always thinking of others.
Visitation will be from 12PM until 2Pm Monday Jan 22, at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130. The funeral service will follow visitation Monday at 2PM in Lancaster. Burial will follow at Hampson Cemetery at Pleasantville.
