Larry L. Skinner, age 75, of Lancaster, passed away at the Pickering House Wednesday, August 24th, 2011. He worked for Lancaster Glass for 32 yrs in production control and also worked for the Sheriffs Dept. for 22yrs, where he set up security for the HALL of Justice. He was a member of the Mills Memorial United Methodist Church; Goodale Masonic Lodge #372; assistant scout master for St. Marys troop 141; he taught first aid at the Red Cross; was a member and 6 year trustee of the FOP Lodge 50.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years to the day, Marlene Skinner, of Lancaster; daughter, Mindy (Tom) Haning of Lancaster; two grandsons; Marshall (Rachel) Haning of Cincinnati, and Jacob (Katie) Haning of Lebanon, OH; mother-in-law, Gertrude Stanley of Lancaster; niece, Marla (Bob) Wirtmiller of Nixa, MO; sister-in-law, Lona Seal of Nixa, MO; and nephew, Brent Seal of CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Randell and Viola Skinner; and father-in-law, Raymond E. Miller.
A service will take place on Saturday, at 4PM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster officiated by both Pastor Harold Sturm and Pastor Mel Truex. Family and friends may call from 1-4 and 6-8PM on Saturday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will take place at 7pm and an FOP service at 7:30PM. Caring Cremation will follow the service. Memorials can be made in his name to FairHope Hospice and Pickering House 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130.
