Larry Richards, 73 of Lancaster, Ohio formerly of Logan, Ohio went to be with his Lord in heaven on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. He fought a long battle with advanced prostate cancer for the last three years. It finally got the best of him.
Larry was born in Logan, Ohio on July 29, 1944 to the late Virgil and Nellie (Woolever) Richards, Sr. and graduated from Logan High School Class of 1962.
He was a veteran of the US Army and he worked in sales for many years. He retired in 2015 from Tansky Automart in Lancaster. He was the best drummer ever playing recently with the band String Theory. He loved music, loved playing the drums and was an avid Browns fan, win or lose.
Larry has left behind his loving wife of 29 years, Donna Richards; son, Jeffrey (Barbara) Richards, step sons, Jonathan (Terri) Smith and Jeffrey (Erica) Smith; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister, Lillian Sellers; nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Also his girl “Gracie Mae”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Virgil Richards, Jr., sister, Donna Kuhn and brothers-in-law, John Ed Kuhn and Howard Sellers.
Funeral service will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCATSER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Terry Borah officiating. Caring Cremation® to follow. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
