Larry L. Rausch 77 died Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Elizabeth Rausch and his first wife, Barbara G. Rausch.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Rausch; sons, Skip (Jenny) Rausch and David (Deborah) Rausch; step-daughter, Monica (Doug) Hogle; grandchildren, Zachary (Lauren) Rausch, Katie (Thomas) Wetmore, Kari Rausch, Nate Rausch, Kyler Hogle, Nic Hogle and Zane Hogle; great-grandchildren, Sydney Rausch and Griffin Rausch; sister, Arlene Landon; cousins, Sara (Hal) Secrest, Melinda (Chad) Whittington and Violet Whittington and other relatives and friends including Mark (Janice) Brown and Miriam Harris.
Larry was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from South High School then joined the US Navy and was part of the guided missile squadron. After he returned from the US Navy, he worked at Timken Roller Bearing, was a real estate agent and later to work for Sears with 43 years of service. While at Sears, he was the top salesman in the United States for several years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Ohio, former member of the Flying FORKS airplane club, and former president of Eastland Vikings youth football league. He enjoyed cars, scooters, NASCAR and flying model airplanes. Larry loved his family, his cat Izzy and enjoyed helping others.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Jeremy Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Estates, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Friends may visit Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
