Larry Forest Noland 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Pickering House. He was born on April 25, 1939 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Forest and Luta Noland.
He served in the US Army Reserves during the Cuban Missile Crisis and went on to retire from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp as a mechanic with over 30 years of service. Larry became co-owner of Noland's Awnings after retiring from Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. In the earlier part of his life he was a softball player at Hocking and Miller Park.
Larry was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church, Sunday School Class of S.O.S., and a lifelong member of the Monday Night Church League at Lincoln Lanes. He was a craftsman, welder and a grandfather clock maker.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Mary Ann) Noland of North Canton, Aaron (Darla) Noland of Pickerington, Brad Noland of Hide-A-Away Hills, Todd (Melinda) Noland of Marion, and Lyle (Teresa) Noland of Paris, Texas; grandchildren, Alisha, Ryan (Meghan), Rachel, Philip (Tionna), Isaiah, Natalie, Cole, Morgan, Cade, Gianna, Alaina, and Brigid; great grandchildren, Jacob, Michael, Damian, and Jayden; sister, Caryl Woods of Lancaster; Many nieces and nephews and cherished companion, Sandy Waugh.
A special thank you to the staff Fairhope Hospice and the Pickering House for their love and care of Larry.
Larry was preceded in death by his wives, Roxanne and Lenora Noland, parents, brothers, Carl and Danny Noland, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jack Woods, Marlene Noland and Susan Johnson.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Pastors Kevin Chambers and Todd Noland officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
