Larry Hempleman, age 68 formerly of Lancaster, passed away April 28th, 2013. He was born to Ivan and Mabel Yontz Hempleman, on October 17, 1945 in Carroll. He was a LUHS '63 graduate. He worked at Anchor Hocking from 1966 until 2008. He was a Nascar fan and an avid fisherman. He was known as the "Silver Candle Maker" on his Ham Radio because of his love of candle making.
He was survived by his son, Kevin (Heather) Hempleman of Thurston; daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Camp and Tonia (Harlod) O'Connor of Baltimore; grandchildren, Taylor Hempleman, Natalie and Travis Camp, Devin, Marissa, and Kolton O'Connor; and good friend and mother of his children, Peggy Miller of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Jill Dunlap. Caring Cremation will follow
