Kenneth Hizey

Kenneth E. Hizey, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home.
Kenneth was born August 24, 1923 in Baltimore OH to the late Warner and Helen Cooperrider Hizey. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Olivedale Senior Citizens, Amanda Clearcreek Grange, BIS Guard, and retired from Lancaster City Schools as a bus driver and custodian.
Kenneth is survived by daughter, Candy Church of Lancaster; step children, Pam (Joe) Russell of Stoutsville and Ed (Linda Burgoon) Crooks of Lancaster; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Virgil Hizey; sister, Margaret “Peg” Milligan; two grandchildren; long time companion and wife, Clara Jane Hizey.
Funeral service for Kenneth will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. Columbus St., Lancaster OH 43130, with Pastor Aaron Begley and Pastor Chris Varnell officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
