Kathie Kennedy

Kathie Ann Kennedy, age 62 of Baltimore passed unexpectedly February 8th, 2018 at her residence. Kathie was born on April 22, 1955 in Greenfield, NC. A 1971 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School. A secretary at Barnaby Chenney for 10 years when she found her calling at Eastland Career Center, as a School Nurse, an Attendance Secretary and all around "Mom" to hundreds of students for 28 years.

Kathie had many passions, including rescuing dogs from the Doberman Rescue League, collecting odd coffee cups, which she proudly displayed, along with antiquing. She always made sure the Humming Birds had plenty to eat and would watch them for hours. Kathie was an excellent seamstress, and made her sister-in-laws wedding dress. She spent countless hours making crafts for any seasonal occasion. She was a huge NHRA fan, and loved the drags. Kathie loved her husband, her family, and friends and was there for anyone at the drop of a "hat". She later found her "calling" as "mother" to the kids that walked into her office at Eastland Career Center, where she gave every child special attention to their need. Kathie never met a stranger, was always fun to be around, and will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

Kathie is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Brian Kennedy; siblings, Max (Jolie) Mayo, Mark (Christine) Mayo, Sonny (Ava) James, and Wayne (Lisa) Mayo. David James, Clifford Mansfield (Tracy), Karen Mansfield-Blair (Doug Blair); and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Marie Noga Mayo, father Wayland Mayo and step mother Terry Rojas Mayo.

Caring Cremation has taken place through the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME. Celebration of Life will be held for Kathie on May the 12th, 1-3pm at Vinyard Community Church, 15187 Palmer Rd SW, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. Online condolences can be made at www.funeralhome.com
