Karen S. Young, age 67, of Lancaster died November 3rd, 2016 at the Fairfield Medical Center. She was born on July 19th, 1949 to the late Joe and Leah Slagle Ratliff. She graduated Piketon High School in 1967, where she ran track. She also attended the Cleveland Job Corp Center for Women in 1967. Karen was a member of the Olivedale Senior center where she enjoyed line dancing and clogging. She danced with the Fun Bunch Cloggers of Circleville and the Fun Times Cloggers in Lancaster. She was an activities director for various nursing homes. She was a member of the 5th Ave. Church of Christ and she was a member of Care Team with several close friends.
Karen was survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Ronald A. Young; sons, Norman and Neil Wilson; step-children, Nancy Williams, Douglas Young, and Rhonda Stoner; step-grandchildren, Lewis Watts, Phillip Watts, and Jennifer (Brian) Starcher; sisters, Mary (Bob) Baughman and Leah Ratliff; brother, Dan (Karen) Ratliff and several nieces, nephews, and lots of close cousins .
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Sam Ratliff, Marse Dale Ratliff, and infant Billy Joe Ratliff; and 2nd husband Clark Zwayer.
Caring Cremation™ has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service officiated by Brad Seevers will take place on Monday at 2PM at the 5th Ave Church of Christ in Lancaster. Karen will have a private family graveside at Stukey Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made in Karen’s name to the 5th Ave Church of Christ.
