Karen S. (Swartz) McAvoy, 63, of Baltimore, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012.
Karen worked 35 years for J.C. Penney. She loved to paint and she loved being with her grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Robin (Jeff) Mankin; sons, Jim (Lydia) McAvoy and Steve (Danette) McAvoy; mother, Shirley Swartz ; ten grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Judy (Mike) Rehrer; brothers, Ralph Swartz, Jr. and Joe Swartz; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Robin Burnette.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. McAvoy, Sr. and father, Ralph Swartz, Sr.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME in Baltimore. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karens memory to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
