Karen Sue Duggan

Karen Sue Duggan, 76, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Ohio State University Medical Center. 

She was born in Lloydsville, Ohio on December 2, 1946 to Perman and Dorothy (Lunsford) Sayre. Karen was raised in Belmont, where she attended Belmont Elementary and Union Local High School. She participated in 4H, and was the Belmont County Health Queen. She later attended Business School in Athens, Ohio where she studied clerical work. Karen was very active. 

In addition to her love for crafting and cooking, Karen also found joy in outdoor activities. Kayaking and jet skiing were amongst her favorite pastimes, as well as walking her dog. She liked watching Ohio State football. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her husband, her grandchildren, and friends at the VFW. Karen had a strong faith, and loved going to church at Christ United Methodist Church.

Karen is survived by her husband Ed Duggan; children Kisten Palm, Mariah (Jennifer) Wheeler-Murray, and Jimmy Ruckman; grandchildren Jesse (Korie) Palm, Christian (Shyann) Palm, Leah (Austin) Beck, Dakota Blaze Murray, and Samuel Palm; great grandchildren Lillian Mae Arnold, Laylah Ratliff, Emmalynn Palm, and Harper Palm; and her brother Dave (Mindy) Sayre.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Joyce Sayre; and brothers Paul Sayre and Ralph Sayre.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S. Main St. Baltimore, Ohio 43105. On Sunday, November 12, 2023 a celebration of life will take place from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the VFW post 3761, 2155 Reynoldsburg Baltimore Rd. NW, Baltimore, Ohio 43105. A private graveside service will take place in Maple Grove, Baltimore at a later date.
