Judith A. Meadows 75 of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on August 5, 2011 at the Fairfield Medical Center, in Lancaster, Ohio due to complications from a fall.
Judy was born February 15, 1936 in Haydenville, Ohio, the daughter of Henry Maywood and Minnie Marie (Fugit) DeVault. She attended Amanda Schools, and graduated from Lancaster High School. Through jobs in and around Lancaster, Judy and her husband Leroy lived and worked a life of caring for others, including working with troubled youth at Fairfield School for Boys (FSB/BIS), and children at The Fairfield County Childrens Home. After leaving the Childrens Home, Judy worked at Heartland-Fairfield Nursing Center and she retired from Hocking Valley Community Hospital.
Judy enjoyed traveling and sharing memories of those trips. She was very proud of her two grandchildren. She was always eager to talk about her granddaughter who taught first grade at East Elementary, and her grandson who worked at Fairfield Medical Center.
Judy was truly blessed to have the love and support of a very strong church family through her many years of faithfully attending church, most recently at Grace Community Christian Fellowship in Lancaster.
Judys love, and commitment to caring for others, will live on through Leroy, her husband of 57 years, one son, Mark Meadows of Lancaster, and two wonderful grandchildren, Hollie (Keith) Swartz, and Phillip (Megan) Meadows, and a new great grandson Liam Matthew Swartz, brother Wilber Butch DeVault, a brother-in-law, Ronnie Stebleton, a special niece Jackie (Duane) Holland, and other nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Richard Lape, and her sister Jean Stebleton.
