Joyce A. (Ankrom) Smeck

Joyce A. Smeck 67 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Pickering House.

She was passionate about cooking, taking care of her grandchildren and her family.  She enjoyed watching her son and grandchildren play sports and would be at their events whenever possible.

Joyce is survived by her son, Garold “Gary” (Carey) Smeck, Jr. of Lancaster; grandchildren, Taylor, Carter, Raegan Smeck and Madison Warner; brothers, Mike Ankrom and Steve Ankrom of Lancaster; sister, Brenda (Tom) Dunnington of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Terry (Tracie) Smeck of Ashville; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sally German, Andrew Solt, Jeff Senig, Dave Ellis and many other friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Garold “Gary” Smeck, Sr., parents, Ralph and Mary Ankrom, brother-in-law, Paul Smeck, sister-in-law, Cindy Ball, in-laws, Betty and John Stebelton, Russell and Mary Smeck, nephews, Tommy Dunnington, Andy and Peter Ankrom.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Chaplain Naomi Calkins-Golter officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
