Joseph L. Mathias Sr.

Joseph L. Mathias Sr., 93, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born to the late William and Augusta Mathias on May 28, 1929 in Lancaster.

Joe was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will by sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Theda Mathias; son, Joe (Elaine) Mathias Jr.; Karen (Mike) Phillips, Lisa Cole, and Tina Glover; and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father Augusta and Joseph Lang, father, William Mathias; son, Don Mathias; and infant daughter, Carol Sue.

Caring cremation has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY. Burial will take place at a later date in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
