Joseph "Joe" R. Jackson

Joseph "Joe" R. Jackson 74 of Baltimore, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was a Vietnam veteran serving as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. and following his military career retired from the Massillon Fire Department with 25 years of service. He then worked for the Pickerington School District as a custodian and retired for the second time.

Joe was a lifetime member of the VFW, Marine Corps. League #1060, Vietnam Veterans of America and loved his family very much.

He is survived by his life partner and companion, Connie Baldwin; sons, Bill Jackson of Massillon, Ohio and Brian Jackson of Medina, Ohio; grandchildren, Connor (Michelle) Jackson, Brady Jackson, Alexis Jackson, Hugh Jackson; step-sons, Juan Rodriguiz, James (Betty) Baldwin and Jesse (Becky) Baldwin; step-grandchildren, Penelope Rose Baldwin and Oliver Baldwin; brothers, Geoffrey (Jan) Jackson of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tim Kick of Ashland, Ohio; sisters, Jill (Billy) Ackley of Baltimore, Ohio and Jackie (Dan) Altice of Nashville, Tennessee and a niece, Faran Jackson of Newark, Ohio.

Joe was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gene and Jean Jackson.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43130 with the Marine Corps. League Detachment 602 conducting the memorial service.  Friends may visit hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
