Josephine J. Wildermuth, 92, passed away at Main Street Terrace, on April 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born December 5, 1921 in Rhyl, North Wales to Thomas and Amy Beatrice Jones, who predecease her.
Josie met the love of her life, Paul H. Wildermuth, during W.W. II, in England, when she was in His Majestys Service, the Auxiliary Territorial Services and Paul was in the 8th Air Force at Atcham Air Base in Shrewsbury, England.
They were married November 18, 1944, in Rhyl, North Wales. Josie joined her husband in the States in April 1946, coming from the British Isles on the Queen Mary as one of thousands of War Brides, with a 6 month old baby. Paul and Josie were married for 67 years when Paul passed away in June 2012.
Josie was a wonderful Mother and devoted and loving wife. She loved her home, having been able to stay there until 6 weeks ago with the help of her family. She loved feeding her birds, relaxing on her patio, puttering in her yard, going dancing with Paul at Olivedale Senior Center and most of all, a hot cup of tea. She was truly a sweet person. She will be missed terribly by her children and all who knew her.
Surviving are their 6 children, Paul (Jane) Wildermuth of Rushville, Lana (James) Sharp of Lancaster and Venice, Florida, Melanie Gurile, Lance Wildermuth, and Bliss (Larry) Smith all of Lancaster, and Velvet (Robert) Kinsley of Englewood, Florida; a sister, Barbara of Wales; grandchildren, Todd (Tammie) Wildermuth, Craig Wildermuth, and Tristan (Carrie) Kinsley; and several great grandchildren. Josie was predeceased by her husband; parents; baby son, Brett; sister, Dorothy Bennett and brother, Bill Jones of Wales; sister, Marjorie Evans of Canada; and her beloved cat, Lily.
The family wishes to thank Main Street Terrace for their wonderful care of our Mother, these past 6 weeks.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service for immediate family only will be at a later date. Interment St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio.
