Joseph Carl Gray Jr.

Joseph Carl Gray Jr., 86 of Thurston, went to be with his Lord on Nov. 11, 2021.  He was born on the south side of Lancaster on Jan 15, 1935 and then graduated from Millersport. He was the eldest member of the Fairfield Baptist Church in Thurston.  Carl worked at Alten's Foundry and Machine Works and served his country in the U.S. Army.  He enjoyed woodworking, but loved spending time with his family and playing with his children as they grew up. Carl's personality and thoughts of the world will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children, Joseph (Carolyn) Gray, Tommy (Jean Kracker) Gray, Nicole (Tom) Martin, Andy (Kim) Gray; daughter-in-law, Jodi Popper; grandchildren, Tammy Jenkins, Lisa Border, Natashua (Derek) Allen, Kyndle Gray, Thomas Gray, Nicolas (Angela) McLain, Lucas McLain, Alainey and Alyvia Gray, and Samantha Flynn; and many great grandchildren.; 1/2 sister Barb Munn, and sister-in-law, Susan Gurile and niece Jennifer Romine.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara J. Gray and son, Timothy Gray.

A funeral service through the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home will take place on Wednesday, Nov 17th at 10:30AM at the Fairfield Baptist Church in Thurston.
