Joseph R. Oslanzi 68 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He worked in the shipping department of Lancaster Electro Plating having 32 years of service and later worked for the Fairfield District Library for 10 years. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Navy.
Joseph was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He liked to play golf and in his earlier years, play softball.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen; sisters, Gloria Harris of Marseilles, IL, Pamela Anderson of IL and Dorothy Ann Oslanzi of Marseilles, IL; nephews, James (Kyla) Harris and Michael (Katie) Anderson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Song) Nicolia, George (Peggy) Nicolia all of Lancaster, Ohio and Ruth (Darrell) Nichols of Melbourne, FL and his feline companion, Trouble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Oslanzi, brother, Tom Oslanzi and mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Mary Nicolia.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Emil H. Klatt, III officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery.
Friends may visit Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OH 43130 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
