Joseph L. Kim

Joseph L. Kim 80 of Sugar Grove, Ohio went to be with his Savior, on Friday, November 25, 2022 at his home. Joe was born in Ravenna, Ohio on May 13, 1942 to the late Joseph W. and Ruth E. (Newland) Kim.

Joe was an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a graduate of Ohio University and later retired from American Electric Power and from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation (Newell).

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and enjoyed arrow head hunting, attending  his grandchildren’s sporting activities and just providing for his family.

Joe is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Sharon Sue (Shonebarger) Kim and by a precious granddaughter, Anna Beth Schillig.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Edward) Schillig; son, Brett (Erica) Kim; grandsons, Andrew Kim, Maxwell Schillig, Jacob Kim, Mason Kim and granddaughter, Emily Kim.  The family wishes to give a special thank you to his neighbors and friends, especially Mike and Tammy Thomas for checking in on Joe.

In accordance with Joe’s wishes Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Ohio.
