John Murphy

September 24, 1944 — November 18, 2013

John A. Murphy, 69, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2013, at Fairfield Medical Center.

John was involved with church and prison ministry as well as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

John is survived by his brother, Jim (Patricia) Murphy of Millersport; sister, Roberta (Mike) Hughes of Florence, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Kevin.

Caring Cremation has taken place with the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, Baltimore. A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Old School Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Thurston.

Donations may be made in memory of John to Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous.
