John H. Kraus 85 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was a retired car inspector for the railroad including various rail lines with the last one being Conrail. He also owned John Kraus Welding and helped others with their welding projects. He was a member of the Grove City Masonic Lodge and enjoyed riding horses and roping his cows. He loved taking care of his animals and was an expert shot at age 85..
John is survived by his daughters, Loretta “Lori” (Jeff) Clark of Lancaster, Ohio, Jo Ford and her husband Kevin King of Westerville, Ohio and Peggy (Tim) Hall of Lancaster, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristin Kraus, Kevin Ford, Kent Ford, Samantha (Aaron) Stebelton, Betsy Noll, Adam King,Talena (Matt) Hall, Tim (Lana) Clark, Kyle (Heather) King and Matthew (Ashley) King; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. “Peggy” Kraus, son-in-law, Mark “Bubba” Ford and parents, Henry and Alvina Kraus.
Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. Per John’s wishes no service will be observed.
