John E. Boice 86 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Primrose Memory Care. He was born on September 3, 1937 to the late James and Fern Boice in Lancaster, Ohio.  

John was a retired cost accountant for Anchor Hocking Glass Corp. with many years of service.  He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. John loved to travel like going to Europe, Brazil, Africa and attending conventions in these places.   

He enjoyed life and everything it had to offer along with spending time with his family.

John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patty; sons, Ed (Melissa) Boice of Lancaster and David (Kristen) Boice of Carroll; grandchildren, Brandon, Malea, Jesse and Cory; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Vanderwerf, parents, brothers, Bobby and Curtis Boice, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Reese, Priscilla Conte, Alice Louise Rambo and Melinda Sue Serafini.

Caring Cremation® has taken place by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, LANCASTER, OHIO. A talk will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1602 Cedar Hill Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Andy Mitchell as speaker.
