John Beck

John R. Beck, age 73 of Lancaster, died August 28th, 2017 at the Pickering House. He was born to the late Ralph and Margaret Reef Beck on Oct. 12th, 1943 in Lancaster. John along with his wife Jean, owned and operated the Beck Christmas Tree Farm. He also was retired from the Lancaster Fire Department. He was a member of the Ohio Xmas Tree Association and also the LFD Firefighters Local 291R. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean A. Beck; brother and sisters in law, Joyce (Terry) McCrady, Carol (Marc) Schwendeman, Tom (Rita) Fisher, Jack (Linda) Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joann Henwood, Mary Justus, Lois Beck, and Betty Graham.

A funeral service will take place at 10AM on Friday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Deacon Mark Scarpitti of St. Bernadette’s Parish. Burial will follow at Forest Rose Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2PM until 4 PM and then 6PM until 8PM at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in his name to either, FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd.
