John J. Balthaser, 66, of Lancaster, died at home after a brief illness on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
John was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked many years for both Conrail and Premix. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2120; AMVETS Post 1985; and the American Legion Post 11. John was also a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan.
John is survived by his partner, Betty Bright; step-daughter, Charity (Kyle) Smith; daughter, Yvonne Darlene (Terry) Springer; sister, Karen Young; brother, Frank E. Balthaser, Jr., grandchildren, Nikki, Cole, and Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Audrey Balthaser.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with Pastor Thomas McGranor officiating. John would be honored if you want to wear your favorite sports team attire to the graveside services.
