John T. Andres 62 of Medway, Ohio formerly of Lancaster, Ohio died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the US Air Force with 28 years of service and a Vietnam veteran. He worked for the US Air Force in personnel records. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, American Legion Past Commander in Fairborn, Ohio, AMVETS, Fairborn VFW Post, and a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1966.
He is survived by his mother, Naomi E. Andres of Lancaster, Ohio; 4 sisters, Joyce Carr, Marcia L. (Richard) Dickson, Judith M. (Steve) Root all of Lancaster, Ohio and Jennifer L. (Lavon) Chilcote of Zanesville, Ohio; 2 brothers, Frederick W. (Cynthia) Andres of Lancaster, Ohio and James P. (Beth) Andres of Columbus, Ohio; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, The Rev. Herman V. J. Andres and brother-in-law, George W. Carr.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Brian Dillahaunt officiating. Burial to follow in Green Mound Cemetery with Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour to the service at the church on Thursday.
