JoAnn Lape

December 11, 1938 — December 5, 2018

JoAnn (Ackers) Lape, 79, of Lancaster, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. JoAnn was born December 11, 1938, in Lancaster to the late Floyd and Marcella Ackers. She was a 1957 graduate of Lancaster High School.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Donald Lape; three beautiful children, Lisa (Jim) Rieflin, Todd Lape, and Tracy (Mike) Oppenheimer; grandchildren, Elliot Rieflin, Emily Rieflin, and Bailey Lape; brother-in-law, W. David (Marcella) Lape; sister-in-law, Lois “Susie” Ackers; and several nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Richard Ackers and David Ackers.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Caring Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be observed and burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.
