Joan Benson

Joan Benson, 82, of Millersport, passed away on November 9, 2018. She was born on May 3, 1936 to the late Wilma and James Allen Sr.

Joan was a long time member of Lancaster Emanuel Lutheran Church. She also proudly answered the fire phone from 1960-1984 for the Millersport Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Lynn (Gordan) Ford; sons, James

Lewis Benson, and John Mark Benson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Benson; great grandchildren, Gavin Lewis Jones, Trianna Nickole Phillips, and Kameron Handley; sisters, Jane Ann Ranalli, and Carol Lynn Stalter; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Roger L. Benson; grandson, Joshua James Jarrett; sisters Betty Barnes, and Suzanne Schilling; brother, James W. Allen Jr., and parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. Main St., Baltimore, OH, officiated by Pastor Mark Raddatz. Burial will follow at the Millersport Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:30 AM until the time of service on Wednesday.
