Jimmie Lee McCoy, 81, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, 7:00 AM, at his residence. Jimmie was born March 5, 1936, in Winchester, Indiana. The son of the late John C. McCoy and Irene (Miller) McCoy. He was a 1954 graduate of Winchester High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
He married the love of his life, Diane, September 20, 1957. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this fall. He worked at the Overmyer Mould Company in Winchester from 1954 to 1963. He then went to work at Anchor Hocking Glass Container Company in Lancaster and Zanesville. He retired as a mould engineer from Zanesville Mould in 1995.
Jimmie was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 1985. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (Coddington) McCoy; his sons, Kirby (Margaret) McCoy and Brent (Amy) McCoy; brother, Larry (Pam) McCoy; sister, Sherry Clouse; sister-in-law, Barb McCoy; grandchildren, Jessica McCoy, Clayton McCoy, Kessler McCoy, Brittany McCoy, and Coleman McCoy; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene McCoy.
Caring Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will occur at a later date. Memorial gifts may be given to FairHoPe Hospice in his name.
