James E. Ricker, 82, went to be with the Lord on September 24th, 2015, with his family by his side. Even though selfishly we are going to miss him here on Earth, we know that he has a lot of catching up to do with his siblings in Heaven. Jim was born on October 14, 1932 in Chicago, IL. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. He loved cars, traveling, music, and was always the last one on the dance floor. He loved water skiing and spent many summers with his family at a cottage in Michigan.
Jim worked for many years and retired from South Central Power and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lancaster.
Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dee Ricker; son, Roger (Candy) Ricker; daughter, Dana Okey; grandchildren, Jen (Travis) Evans, Josh (Dawn) Ricker, Michelle Johnson, and Cody Ricker; and great grandchildren, Malachi, Chaunce, Larkin, Trevor, Lexi, Tyler, Teagan, Max, and Alba.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jayne Moore; and brother, Bill Ricker.
Funeral service for Jim will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Roger Quay officiating. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Caring Cremation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 N. Eastwood Ave, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
