Jill Ashley Wollenberg, 39, of Baltimore, passed away at Country Lane Gardens Rehabilitation Center in Thornville, OH on January 30, 2024.
Jill was born to Wayne Wollenberg Jr. and Nyla “Mindy”Kaleta on January 2, 1985. A spunky little girl with pigtails, Jill was a force of nature with an independent spirit. In grade school, she participated in cheerleading and baton twirling. Anyone standing nearby often had to duck and cover once she got that baton going! Despite having a developmental disability, Jill graduated from high school, got her driver's license and was able to have her own apartment where she lived for fifteen years. She loved visiting ALL the local libraries to check out books and videos, which she did multiple times a week. All the librarians knew her by name! She also enjoyed playing games and coloring in the apps on her phone. Jill had a unique view of the world and could be quite funny, leaving us all rolling with laughter at her matter-of-fact take on a situation. A homebody who felt most comfortable in her own space, Jill loved her family and always enjoyed hearing about what they were up to and seeing pictures. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her father Wayne Wollenberg Jr. and mother Nyla “Mindy” (Don) Kaleta; sister Jen (Tony) Winkler; brothers Jason (Jamie) Wollenberg and Justin (Julia) Wollenberg; nephews Anthony (Arianna) Winkler, Logan Winkler, Nate Winkler, and Connor Wollenberg; nieces Macie Wollenberg, Isabel Wollenberg, and Olivia Wollenberg; great nephew Angelo Winkler; and great niece Theadora Winkler; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jill is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Wayne Wollenberg Sr. and Clara Mae Wollenberg; and her maternal grandparents Nile McDaniel and Ruth McDaniel.
Services will be held Sunday, February 11, 2024. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 5 PM. Johnson-Smith Funeral Home, 207 S Main St, Baltimore OH 43105. Caring Cremation® has taken place.
