Jerry Spence

January 12, 1938 — February 11, 2013

Jerry Spence, 75, of Lancaster, died on Monday, February 11, 2013, at the Pickering House.

Jerry was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked 28 years for Carborundum Company in Logan and retired from Buckeye Steel. He was also a member of the Eagles for many years. Jerry will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a loving brother, uncle, and brother-in-law.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Steve) Miller of Lancaster; son, Robert A. (Linda) Spence of New Port Richey, Florida; grandchildren, Bryan S. (Abby) Miller, Christopher A. Miller, Ashley N. Miller, Samuel J.D. Spence, and Franklin (Mary) Clark; great grandchild, Addilyn N. Miller; sisters, Jeanine Gast and Leotta Scarberry; sisters-in-law, Judy Bowlin, Ruth Ann (David) Arthurs, and Lela Spence; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Spence; daughter-in-law, Deborah Spence; parents, William and Nell Spence; and many brothers and sisters.

A memorial service for Jerry will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Bible Baptist Church, 1395 Duffy Rd SE, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 with Pastor Roy Maple officiating. Caring Cremation has taken place with the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster.

Donations may be made in memory of Jerry to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
