Jerry Saunders, Jr

Jerry Saunders, Jr. 76 of Pleasantville, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He was a US Navy veteran serving as an electrician as a submariner. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lancaster, real-estate agent, barber, horse trainer, paramedic, truck driver and gambler.

Jerry is survived by his seven children, Jerry Lee (Teresa) Saunders of Ohio, Stephanie Saunders of South Dakota, Jennifer L. (Kenneth) Swaim of Georgia, Christopher A. (Pam) Saunders of Florida, Calista A. Byrns of Ohio, Steven A. (Nancy) Saunders of Georgia and Robyn L. Saunders of Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Daniel J. Saunders of Oregon; sister, Doris J. Mayne of Ohio; brother-in-law, Donald E. DeLong of Ohio and cousin, Connie Switzer of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Rosetta Delong Saunders, parents, Jeramiah and Darsie Hicks Saunders, grandsons, Timothy Matthew Cheeks and Timothy Saunders, sons-in-law, Cameron Byrns and Paul Cheeks.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 207 S. MAIN ST., BALTIMORE, OHIO 43105 with Bishop Mark Holdcroft officiating. Burial will follow in Tschopp Cemetery. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
