Jerry Hurt, 65, of Lancaster, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Ricart Automotive Group after 31 years. Jerry loved animals, fishing, and pulling pranks.
Jerry is survived by his fiance, Sue Mossholder; children, Jerry Lee Hurt, Megan (Jared) Primmer, and Liz (Ron) Spires; grandchildren, Trista, Connor, Makayla, Jessica, and Breeonah; parents, Elmer and Violet Jones; sisters, twin sister - Joan Austin, Brenda (Bill) Price, Esther (Richard) Shields, Nancy (Ralph) Ladd-Cook, and Judy Duke; brother, Rudy Day; and 11 nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Viva Kotel; sister, Lana Turner; and brother, Dall Kotel.
Funeral service for Jerry will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail performing military burial rites. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
