Jerry Canfield

Jerry L. Canfield, Sr. age 61, of Lancaster, died at his residence on April 9th, 2015. He was born on August 30th, 1953 in Lancaster. Jerry retired after 28 years as the Superintendant of the Lancaster City Street Department. He enjoyed being a ham radio operator, cars, and guns, but loved most of all spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Beverly “Bunny” Canfield of Lancaster; daughter, Diana (Clarence) Engle of Lancaster; son, Jerry (Nicole) Canfield Jr. of Lancaster; grandchildren, Ashley, Chase, Kylee, Brooke, Trey, Naomi, Jerry, Tori, and Peyton; great-granddaughter, Faith; brother, John (Miriam) Canfield of FL; sister, Marcia (Larry) Horn of Logan; brothers, Ronnie (Janice) Brady of Lancaster, Kenney (Brenda) Brady of Sugar Grove, and David (Roxanne) Brady of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacey Kennedy; mother, Geneva Brady; father, George Canfield; brother, Joseph Canfield, mother and father-in-law, Joann and Harold Shugert.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Suzanna from FairHoPe Hospice for all the care and consideration she provided.

A service will take place at 1PM on Wednesday April 15th at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Rev. Dr. Thomas Hermiz. Burial will follow the services at Floral Hills Memorial Garden. Family and friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on both Monday from 6PM until 8PM and Tuesday 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM.
