Jerry A. Bohlen, age 69 of Albany, formerly of Lancaster died December 3rd, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born to the late, Robert and Delores Verne Bohlen on November 8th, 1948 in Columbus, OH. Jerry was an auctioneer for 42 years and owned Bohlen’s Trucking Co. for 35 years. He was an avid race car driver in his youth, an OSU fan, he enjoyed participating in his children’s sports, and he loved muscle cars from the 60s and 70s. Jerry will be greatly missed by his friends, colleagues and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jane Bohlen; daughters, Jill King and Jera Bohlen-Moore; grandchildren, Hannah Hagan, Russ King, Jerry King, Cora Holland, Otha Moore, Cole Holland, Ada Moore, and Dante Moore; great grandchild, Hagan Artrip; siblings, Robert (Debbie) Bohlen, Nora Bohlen-Sturgill, Palma (Steve) Mills, and Verne Bohlen; father-in-law, Carl Johnson; son-in-law, Jason Holland; best friend, Jim King; special uncle, Frank; several nieces and nephews; and many business associates, relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jodi Bohlen-Holland; mother-in-law, Jaquelyn Johnson; and sisters, Ginger and Vicky.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday Dec. 9th at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME at 2:30PM. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
