Jerrold "Jerry" Nauman

Jerrold R. “Jerry” Nauman 73 of Nokomis, Florida and Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at his residence in Florida. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1963 later to serve two years in the US Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge during the Vietnam War.

Jerry was the third generation owner of Nauman Outdoor Advertising Co. and very active in the Lancaster Community. He was past president of the Lancaster Jaycees, Information and Referral, Lancaster Fairfield County Charity Newsies, Outdoor Advertising Association of Ohio, Sate District Vice President of Ohio Jaycees and the Athens Boat and Ski Club. He was also past commodore of the Lancaster Boating Club and Athens’ Boat and Ski club.

Jerry was a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club, American Legion Post #11, Charity Newsies, all Masonic Bodied, Aladdin Temple Shrine, and First English Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his son, Jay (Kim) Nauman of Lancaster, Ohio; daughter, Jennifer Nauman of Oviedo, Florida; grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Jack, Riley and Cade; sister, Judy (Glenn) Churchfield of Oregon; companion, Nancy Lint and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Jan Nauman and parents, Ralph and Eileen Nauman.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 with Rev. Brian Dillahunt officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio with the Lancaster Veteran Burial Detail conducting military rites at the cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
