Jeff "Jeffro" Camp

July 26, 1962 — January 10, 2025

Baltimore, Ohio

On January 10, 2025, the world bid farewell to Jeff "Jeffro" Camp, 62, a cherished son of Baltimore, Ohio, whose spirit found joy in the simplest pleasures and whose craftsmanship left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. Born on July 26, 1962 he traversed life with a heart full of love, laughter, and an exceptional talent for transforming the mundane into the extraordinary.

Jeff devoted over twenty years of his career to Matthews Ford, where he shone brightly as an amazing body man and a phenomenal painter. His love for his work was evident, drawing him close to his colleagues — friends who became family through shared laughter, tales of triumph, and togetherness born from the grind of daily labor. The garage was not just a workplace for Jeff; it was a sanctuary where memories were forged, camaraderie bloomed, and he found happiness in his craft.

Outside of work, Jeff embraced life with an infectious zeal. He fostered a deep bond with nature, relishing the tranquility of early mornings spent fishing with his son, cane pole in hand, as they whispered secrets to the water. He held dear the tradition of deer camp, where friendships flourished against the backdrop of flickering campfires and shared stories that echoed through the woods. Jeff’s love for whittling allowed him to create beautiful wooden sculptures, making each piece a testament to his patience and creative spirit.

At home, he was the quintessential family man, a dependable father figure who provided not only for his loved ones materially but also instilled in them values of loyalty, strength, and the importance of family. Jeff’s stubbornness was legendary, often expressed through delightful antics that brought smiles and eye-rolls in equal measure. His goofy sense of humor brightened the lives of all around him, leaving a trail of joy wherever he wandered.

In the tender embrace of his family, Jeff leaves behind his loving wife, Pamela Camp, who stood as his unwavering supporter, and children Natalie (Paul McGill) Camp, Travis (Abigail Henning) Camp, and Taylor (Brandon) Hawk. His stepchildren, Kayla (Stefan) Armintrout and Kelsie Legg, along with grandchild Liam Armintrout, fill the void left by his passing with the light of their love. Siblings Kay, Jean, Jim, and Rodger hold tight to the cherished memories of their brother, his best friend and brother-in-law Keith Legg, his close nephew, Jamie Camp. His mother-in-law Karen Legg, sister-in-law Shelly(Clark and Brentley) Raver, and his fur baby, Smokie, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends, carry forth the legacy of laughter and kindness he imparted.

Jeff joins his late parents, Floyd Camp and Betty Adams Ruckman, along with siblings Denver, Dorothy, June, Linda, Cinda, Becky, and Dee in a place beyond yet hauntingly close to our hearts. His absence is felt deeply, but the love he cultivated and the good times he cherished will forever echo in the stories shared among survivors.

A visitation with cremation to follow, will be held at the Johnson-Smith funeral home in Baltimore, Ohio, on  Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, as family and friends gather to celebrate a life well-lived. As we remember Jeff, we remember a man who painted the world not only with vibrant hues but with love, humility, and an enduring spirit that touched countless lives. Farewell, dear Jeffro, until we meet again in the laughter of shared memories. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
