Jeane Mast

May 5, 1934 — March 9, 2018

Jeane Ruth Wolfe Mast 83 of Pleasantville, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on May 5, 1934 in Baltimore, Ohio to the late Merrill Frederick and Helen Wise Neff Wolfe on a small dairy farm outside of Thurston. She was raised as a member of the Thurston united Methodist Church where she received much of religious foundation. Jeane went to Thurston School then later to graduate at Liberty Union High School in 1952. She went on to graduate from The Ohio State University in 1956.

Jeane’s first teaching position was teaching Home Economics in Deshler, Ohio. She then came back home and married Nigel, a local farmer. She continued her community works with different projects and fund raising opportunities.

Our relationship with God is our own. Describing one’s relationship with God is neither simple nor adequate. Jeane loved her life authentically in search understanding her relationship with God. She did this by exploring other religious and facets of spirituality. She really enjoyed having theological discussions with others. She was genuine in her words and deeds. She was generous with her hands, thoughts and deeds to the community and people she felt that she could help. She helped others often in unexpected and sometimes unconventional ways.

She is survived by her son, David Michael Mast of Pleasantville, Ohio; daughter, Karen Mast Graham and her husband Larry of Tampa, Florida; brothers, Paul Bert (Jan) Wolfe of Plain City, Ohio and Richard Neff (Peg) Wolfe of Durham, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Jeane was preceded in death by her husband, Nigel William Henry Mast, son, Lynn Orrin Mast, brother, parents, Roger Wayne Wolfe and sister-in-law, Doris Braley Wolfe.
