Jean Gantz Shoemaker, 87, of Baltimore, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Pickering House.
Jean was a long time member of the Maple Grove United Brethren Church in Baltimore. She was also an avid bowler and loved fishing.
Jean is survived by her sons, Neil R. (Mary) Shoemaker, John H. (Joyce) Shoemaker, and Carl D. (Mary) Shoemaker; daughter-in-law, Donna (David) Pridemore; grandchildren, Sharon Shoemaker, Shannon Shoemaker, Shawnon (Steve) Morganstern, Shirley Shoemaker, Kendra (Shawnn) Thomas, Marci Shoemaker-Stidham, Paul (Courtney) Fetter, Shaina Spenner, Joe (Ann) Shoemaker, and Melissa Hayes; many great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Owen) Keller; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Shoemaker; son, Mark V. Shoemaker; parents, Neil and Bertha Gantz; and brother, Paul H. Gantz.
Funeral service for Jean will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore with Pastor Mike Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
