Jean (DeMattio) Boltz passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 after a valiant and courageous battle to recover from a stroke. Born April 14, 1941 in Midvale, Ohio, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Attorney Brian Boltz; children, Lisa and Steve Boltz; grandchildren, Noelle and Luke Boltz; brothers, Bill (Lois) DeMattio, and Ed (Barb) DeMattio; niece/sister Patty Dove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert DeMattio, and James DeMattio; sister, Lucille Riley; and parents, Mary and Rudolph DeMattio.
Jean was always ahead of the trends with interest in holiday collectibles and the pottery of Chester Nicodemus long before the rest of the world caught on. An avid collector, she operated spaces in antique malls in Lancaster and Logan and was an original seller on Ebay. She especially enjoyed birthday and holiday dinners and spending time with family at her Buckeye Lake home often getting up early to watch the sunrise.
Jean was a dog lover and spent many happy years with her beloved Shar Pei, Ginger.
She is a Past Member of Hospital Twig 14 and was involved in various charity work through her life.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11 A.M. at LINN-HERT-GEIB FUNERAL HOME, 116 2 nd St. NE, New Philadelphia, OH, 44663 with Fr. Jeff Coning officiating. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
