Jay Edward Palmer 68 of Millersport, OH passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Pickering House. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on January 24, 1946 to the late Frederick and Nellie Lloyd Palmer.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and a graduate of Lancaster High School Class of 1964. He had worked for Fairfield Insulation and Drywall Inc. in sales for many years and later worked at Ken’s Body Chassis in Baltimore, OH. He was a jack of all trades and loved working on street rods. Jay was a member of the National Carpenters Union, National Street Rod Association, the Goodguys, and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Jay is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda; daughters, Jamie (Kyle) Ehorn of Lancaster, OH and Justy (Todd) Boggs of Carroll, OH; step-son, Mark Lovett of Reynoldsburg, OH; grandchildren, Brooke and Brody Ehorn, Brett, Beau, Maleigh, Maddox “Tiny” and Maggy Boggs, Morgan Bunnell, Paul “Ricky” Woolsey and Elizabeth Lovett; great-grandson, Ryan Bunnell; brothers and sisters, Nancy (Butch) Goodman of Lancaster, OH, Bob (Vicki) Palmer of Seminole, FL, and twin brother, Jim (Karen) Palmer of Carroll, OH; aunt Betty Lucas of Lancaster, OH; mother-in-law, Leola Creiglow of Lithopolis, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OH 43130 with Pastor Ron Grubb officiating. Burial to follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
