Janet Hedges

Janet K. Hedges, age 76 of Lancaster, formerly of Baltimore, died on March 14, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center. Janet was born to the late Dors and Roseann Wilson Wilkinson on July 24th, 1940 in Sugar Grove. Janet along with her late husband “Chuck” retired from the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster and previously lived at the Johnson-Smith Funeral Home in Baltimore. She was a member of St. Mathew Lutheran Church and also a past member of the Lancaster Commandery Auxiliary. She was an amazing person with a heart of gold, always willing to help out anyone and loved her animals. Janet will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Janet was survived by her daughters, Pamela (Michael) Hock and Tina M. (Bill Behrens) Hedges; sister, Freda Groff; brother, Harry (Linda) Wilkinson; bro-in-law, Jack Blankenship; several nieces and nephews; and special friends the Conley family.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Hedges; parents, sister, Betty Westerman; and brothers, Perry and Fred Wilkinson.

Caring Cremation® has taken place through the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME. A Memorial service will take place on Sunday March 26th, 2017 at Emanuel Lutheran Church at 3PM, officiated by Rev. Mark Radatz. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date at Stukey Cemetery.
