Janet L. (Ward) Gordon 80 of Pleasantville, Ohio passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center.

She was a retired certified nursing assistant for Heartland-Fairfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and cooking.

Janet is survived by her children, Bruce (Michelle) Gordon of Georgia, Steve Gordon of Tennessee, Cindy (Les) Smith of Millersport, Ohio, Nancy Thompson of Pleasantville, Ohio, Lisa Gordon of Pleasantville, Ohio and Scott (Rhonda) Gordon of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; sister, Rita (Bernard) Shonk of Lancaster, Ohio and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gordon, parents, Fred and Carrie (Newton) Ward, grandson, Joseph Gordon, brother, Merrill “Bud” Ward and sister, Mary Aksomitas.

Caring Cremation® is being handled by the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
