James L. VanAtta, 73, of Lancaster, born in Bremen, Ohio on June 24, 1939, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012.
James retired from Anchor Hocking with 36 years of service.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva and Robert VanAtta, Sr.; mother and father, William and Dorothy VanAtta; brothers, Louie and Dick VanAtta; and step-daughter, Susan Fowler.
James is survived by his wife, Ella; daughter, Karamel; brothers, Bill (Betty) VanAtta, Bob (Barb) VanAtta, Paul (Judy) VanAtta, Michael (Kitty) VanAtta, and John VanAtta; sisters, Karen Ann (Grant) Carpenter, Barbara (Rick) Thomas, and Marilou (Douglas) McConnell; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends; and his buddy Brutie.
A graveside service for James will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in Forest Rose Cemetery, Lancaster with Reverend Cheryl Foulk of First United Methodist Church officiating. No visitation will be held.
