James F. Simon, Jr.

James F. Simon Jr., 92, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on November 30, 2023 at the Fairhope Hospice Pickering House.

James was born in Bayonne, NJ to Margaret M. Simon (Sullivan) and James F. Simon Sr. on April 23, 1931. He was a graduate of Bayonne High School in 1949 and Rutgers University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. James was a Korean War veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Great Lakes Carbon Corporation in New York City before moving to Lancaster, Ohio where he worked for American Electric Power Lancaster as a traffic manager for 18 years before retiring in 1995. James enjoyed playing golf and gardening in his spare time.

James is survived by his wife of 67 years Dolores A. Simon (Lynch) son James P. Simon, daughter Dolores M. Jordan; and granddaughter Jennifer M. Jordan.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret Simon and Son-in Law Robert W. Jordan.

James will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home, 405 N. Columbus St. Lancaster, OH 43130, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service, 10:00AM. Caring Cremation® has taken place. Inurnment will follow the service in Forest Rose Cemetery.
