Biography

LANCASTER: James W. Shaner, age 77 of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at The Inn at Fairfield Village.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Former owner and president of Lancaster Electro Plating, member of Rotary International, past president of the Jaycees, board member of the Standing Stone National Bank, served in the U.S. Army.
James is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Mondhank Shaner; Son Mike (Wanda) Shaner, all of Lancaster; daughter, Melanie Smith; Grandchildren, Jenna (Chris) Seward, Jimmy Shaner, Julia Smith, David Smith, Krista Smith; several Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Frances Shaner
Funeral service will be 10:30 Tuesday, June 21, 2011 in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. Columbus St. , Lancaster OH 43130, with Pastor Robert Mc Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
