James Shaeffer, Sr

April 17, 1940 — December 27, 2014

James F. Shaeffer, Sr., 74, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014.

Jim was a member of Fairfield Christian Church. He retired from Mid West Fabricating after 48 years with the company. He enjoyed woodworking and he especially enjoyed being a grandfather.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen Shaeffer; daughter, Kathy (Pete) Hoffmannbeck; granddaughters, Caitlin Kelly (fiance, Trey Smith) and Tasha Hoffmannbeck; half brother, Willy Bigham; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his son, James F. Shaeffer, Jr.; parents; and brothers, Robert, Joe, and Raymond Shaeffer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Pastor Mark Barbee officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Baltimore. Friends may visit from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
