James Allen Russell, Jr. age 84, of Lancaster, Ohio passed way early afternoon Sunday, September 12th. Jim was born September 19, 1936, in Canton, Ohio (dad missed his 85th birthday by just a week.) He was born with a twin sister, Joann, to late parents James A Russell, Sr, and Frances (Fackler) Russell.
Jim loved his family, and lived his life as a faithful and strong Christian husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very involved in various church ministries from college missions, building up new churches, bus ministry, volunteering on a Christian Radio station, Sunday School teacher, and youth leader, as well as always willing to share his testimony of how God changed his life.
Jim enjoyed sharing his love for God and did with his devoted and surviving wife, Arlene (Nolen) Russell, by his side. Also surviving, only daughter, Kim (Jack) Huddleston, 4 grandchildren Travis (Lindsey) Huddleston, Jamie (Kyle) Adams, Allison Huddleston, Lindsey (Matt) McCall, and 4 great granddaughters Aurora, Ava, Sophia, and Myla.
A funeral service will take place at 12 PM on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS St., Lancaster, OH, 43130. Family and friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of the funeral on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5600 E. Broad Street (across from Mt. Carmel East hospital) Columbus, Ohio. A live stream of the funeral service will take place at 12 Noon on Wednesday through the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page.
